Riverside Fall Newsletter for 2020
Well the Fall season is right around the corner.
I have missed all of you and can’t wait for you to get here to Riverside. Sue, Karen and the staff have been so busy working to make everything safe and also to have another year of making great memories. We are so sorry that most of our Canadian friends can’t escape and come join us. Our fingers are crossed that the border will open soon.
We will really miss you. We can keep in touch with each other, and hopefully next season will be back to normal.
I have a lot of fun things to do as you will see on the calendar. The outside activities are still open for you to participate in with social distancing. The pool is open, but will be closed down 2 times a day for the pool area to be cleaned and sanitized. You will still be able to play games in the Pavilion, but you must use distancing and sanitize. The coordinators of the different activities will be responsible to sanitize and have your people be safe. The Activity Center now is only allowing 24 people at one time to enable safe distancing
For the safety of everyone masks are encouraged in the buildings and when unable to social distance.
We will have our first Coffee/Announcements on Tuesday, November 3rd, starting at 8:30, and that will be our Toy Drive Kickoff date.
We will be having our first Drive In Movie on November 12th. Encore purchased a really nice big blow up movie screen with speakers, projector and everything else we need to have a great night. You can bring your golf carts or your chairs and blankies and snacks and snuggle up to watch your movie.
We will be having a Fall Judy Klein Blood Drive. The date is on Wednesday, November 18th, so please sign up to help save lives.
We will be having a Street Dance with Mike from Spin It Again DJ out in the area of the Lakes comfort station.
Things are going to be a little different, but still fun. As of now we are not able to use the kitchen for any cooking(that includes myself). I will be able to loan you a roaster for your Thanksgiving turkey or Christmas if you are going to be having a get together at your site.
The Riverside Christmas Craft Sale coordinated by Audrey Vermont site 214 will be on Saturday, December 12th. Please remember to bring all of the wonderful items, crafts and jewelry that you made this summer. We are looking forward to another successful Craft Sale.
The Kingfisher’s Christmas Lights Tour is cancelled for this season due to not being able to safely distance yourselves from others. If you wish to go on your own that will be up to you. I will have all of the information.
We won’t be having our regular Christmas Eve Celebration, but we are going to be doing a Christmas Decorating Your Site contest. If you are going to participate in the contest please start decorating on Dec 16th or before. The judging of the sites will be done on Dec 24th, and there will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. We will be having a parade of golf carts or walking Christmas caroling anyone can join in or you can stay at your site and have a hot toddies’ for the carolers. I’m sure they will enjoy the treat.
New Year’s Eve – As of now we won’t be having a dance or party. BUT things can change… I will give updates as we get them. Our main priority is keeping our community safe and healthy.
See your calendars for dates and times, and for any changes and updates, check the riversidesnowbirds.com website. All activities/times/places are subject to change.
See You Soon,
