Fish-Hunt

Fishing-Hunting Activity

The FisHunt gang had a fun year in spite of the Covid 19 pandemic and way too many windy days. We managed to book over 30 fishing charters with our core captains and plans are in place to start the charter schedule as early as December 1, 2021 next season. The last fishing charter with Capt. Eric included a limit of red grouper and two African pompano that were too large to fit the camera lens - well almost.

Our weekly meetings of the FisHunt group will continue to be on Tuesdays at 4PM in the pickleball pavilion. This is where we discuss your recent fishing adventures and present upcoming opportunities to enjoy the Florida outdoors. All are welcome to stop by and listen and contribute to the discussions. If you have friends or family visiting, they are most welcome also. Our fishing charters and hunting reservations are for Riverside residents and their invitees.

Our schedule for next season is to start fishing charter bookings in December. Be sure to check the sign-up sheets in the AC/Pavilion Breezeway for the upcoming events and opportunities. Also, there will be two hunting reservation days for a wild boar hunt, one in January and one in February. Details and dates to follow. Shotgun or normal deer calibers work fine. However, .223 caliber is not allowed by the boar ranch manager. We had one guest speaker this season, Josh Oliver, a professional fishing instructor and outdoors sports writer. He publishes weekly in the Sun Newspapers weekly Waterline magazine. Josh promised to come back next season and focus on a more specific subject. Other guest speakers will be solicited, assuming the challenges that Covid 19 delt us have passed.

Below is a list of our FisHunt coordinators, their site #’s, and cell #’s. Feel free to stop and visit or call them to see what the latest opportunities are to be part of Florida outdoor sports.
